Naomi Pendrigh
Ceramics
Having worked outdoors most of her life, Naomi has developed a deep appreciation for the Alberta landscape. The open fields, the mountains, the lakes and all the wildlife that lives within it really is a beautiful experience and she includes that love of flora and fauna into the pieces of art that she creates.
Being especially drawn to birds, most specifically Ravens and Crows, Naomi roots for Alberta wildlife by making whimsical and unique sculptures where their personification can be truly enjoyed.
Having a multidisciplinary approach to art means that Naomi is constantly striving to blend and perfect her art, working with clay, while growing and incorporating new and unique design aspects. Every piece of pottery that she makes is carefully hand made and hand decorated.
In her spare time Naomi tries to keep everyone fed and watered while trying to make some semblance of a clean house and studio. She spends too much time attempting to cultivate a friendship with neighborhood Crows (much to the frustration of her close neighbors), and also needs constant reminders to look in a mirror and not go to the grocery store looking like she fell down a muddy hill.
