Artist Biography

Tanya Doody is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice in ceramics, performance, and video propose strategies of embodiment. Through performative acts, poetic gestures and object making her work engages our sense of touch and foregrounds tactile experience as way to reconnect the body to itself, its environment and to others.

Tanya Doody holds an MFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University in Fine and Media Arts, a BFA from University of Victoria in Visual Arts, a Diploma from Sheridan College in Crafts and Design (Ceramics), and a Diploma of Fine Craft (Ceramics) from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. She lives and works on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory, Treaty 7, Lethbridge, Alberta
