Artist Biography

Douglas Warren is an artist, woodworker, and Collegiate instructor from Vancouver, BC.

After 40 years designing and building large scale custom pieces, Doug founded "The Woodshop Granville Island" - a smaller shop that allowed him to focus on showcasing woodworking as an art form.

Doug's work is inspired by a diverse array of styles and techniques. The influence of European, Eastern, and Indigenous practices can be seen throughout his work.

Be it custom furniture, small pieces like The Birds, or your own one-of-a-kind piece, Doug seeks to capture the visual and tactile senses through masterful combination of form and function.

His work can be found all around the world, everywhere from family homes to Presidential estates.

Now located in Lethbridge - Doug finds inspiration in the landscapes, history, and cultures of Southern Alberta.
